  1. Rishikesh – white water rafting

This is the place where you get to see enthusiasts from all over the world to get into the gushing waters of the Ganga that bursts into the rapids of white waters and descends in the plains. You will love the unpredictable currents, the icy waters, the speed of the waters that is simply incredible and the complexity of the run of the rivers. The beautiful surroundings of the Himalayas and the terrific scenery are an added advantage, although you soak in the joy of rafting.

  1. ManaliParagliding

manali paragliding

If you love heights and want to experience something out of the world, then here it is in Manali that is a popular adventure destination in India. Enjoy the ethereal serenity of the place as you sail in the air above everything else. The high views of Manali and the exotic scenery of the snow capped mountains along with the flower valleys and the little pretty houses lined up is something that you have to view only from the top. In perfect weather, it is possible to glide for more than 3 hours and high up to 3000 meters. You get to experience all grades of paragliding. Guided pilots and experts are a big reason that you will be thrilled with the sport.

  1. Gangotri – trekking

gangotri trekking

Gangotri lies in the Himalayas and that’s the reason why you will love trekking here. Huge snow capped mountains, the beautiful thick forests; the pine, oak, deodar, rhododendron trees and the beautiful valley surrounding the trek will make the sport more exciting and enjoyable. The snow and the clouds on the mountains are simply amazing and is great for zealous adventure lovers eager to experience mountain climbing, rock climbing, and boulder jumping. The trek continues to Gaumukh and the trek is filled with snow as you are in the Himalayas.

  1. Andaman Islands – scuba diving

Visiting the Andaman Islands is a delightful experience in the first place and adventure sports are the cherry on the cake. Andaman waters are virgin and crystal clear. The underwater marine life is a totally different world with vibrant fish and the coral reef which is considered as the richest in the world. The whole island is uncontaminated and that gives the diver the peace and the abundance of variety of sharks and other species of fishes here are enormous. Scuba diving sport here is very much popular even amongst the foreign travelers who come here to enjoy the secluded islands and of course scuba diving which is at par with the international standards.

    Hi Vandana,

Good to be over on your blog too – nice one indeed 🙂

Out of the 4 destinations you mentioned. I’ve been to Manali and Gangotri, but never tried paragliding so far, but my kids tried that from another hill station, though not too much of a height. Your post reminded me of my school days, when our trip with our parents was such a memorable one as we went to the best of places all over the country and had a great time – especially during the vacations.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

Thanks Harleena, for sharing your experience. Yeah, childhood memories are always a treasure. I am sure all of us have some wonderful travel stories of the days when we used travel with our parents. 🙂 These days, with all the facilities available, people can enjoy adventure activities at popular tourist destinations. 🙂
